Roof of a portion of female surgical ward of the hospital had collapsed in the evening raising fears that some persons, who were inside the ward then, might have been killed in the incident.
District collector Nikunj Shrivastava, who is at the site of incident monitoring rescue operations, said there were 15 patients in the ward and all of them have been rescued. There might be two or three more persons in the ward and efforts were being made to clear the debris.
The Hospital, which mainly caters to BHEL staff and their dependents, is 60-years old and is maintained by the public sector heavy electrical giant.
Executive director BHEL, Bhopal, S R Prasad, said there were 14 patients and all of them have been saved.
Known to be one of the better maintained hospitals of the city, this incident has come as a surprise to many.
