
The order followed radio interview remarks made by Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Zeev Elkin suggesting the international community might intervene militarily to “take control of the Syrian chemical weapons arsenal.”
He also blamed the US for not “standing behind” President Obama’s words that the use of chemical weapons would be “crossing the red line” for the Syrian regime.
According to Army Radio, Netanyahu reacted by saying the country’s officials should not be giving the impression that Israel is pushing the international community, or the United States, into an armed intervention.
