Hezbollah's Nasrallah says Syria to provide weapons to group

BEIJING, May 10 - Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has said that Syria will respond to last week’s Israeli air-raids around Damascus by providing the Shiite militant group with sophisticated weapons. Without specifying which weapons these were, he said that they could change the balance of power between Israel and the Lebanon based guerrilla group.

Days after Israeli airstrikes, an indication the balance of force against Israel may shift. In a televised address to a rally of Hezbollah supporters, Nasrallah confirmed to the world that the group’s old ally Syria will provide it with sophisticated weapons. Weapons he said Hezbollah is worthy of owning.

Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah Leader, said, "....Please be aware, you Israelis, that if you thought Syria was a passage way for weapons to the resistance, then Syria is going to give weapons to the resistance. More than that, if you are claiming that your aggression is to prevent the resistance from being strong, then please know that Syria will give the resistance sophisticated weapons that they have never possessed before until now."

Israeli officials have said that the Lebanon based militia has tens of thousands of rockets, but that most of them are unguided. They have confirmed that the airstrikes of the past week targeted shipments of weapons from Syria to Hezbollah. Weapons that included precision-guided missiles. Nasrallah promised support to any renewed Syrian effort to recapture the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah Leader, said, "Like Syria stood by the Lebanese and supported its popular resistance financially and spiritually until this resistance was able to liberate southern Lebanon, then we in the Lebanese resistance announce that we will stand by the Syrian popular resistance and we will offer financial and spiritual support and coordination for the liberation of the Syrian Golan Heights."

Israel launched a series of air-raids near the Syrian capital last Friday. It followed those up with air strikes early on Sunday morning. The strikes were however never formally acknowledged. Speculation remains however about possible Syrian retaliation in the wake of the attacks.

Syrian state media said that after decades of calm, Damascus had given the green light to carry out operations against Israel.

Well, the way they make shows is, they make one show. That show's called a pilot. Then they show that show to the people who make shows, and on the strength of that one show they decide if they're going to make more shows.

Like you, I used to think the world was this great place where everybody lived by the same standards I did, then some kid with a nail showed me I was living in his world, a world where chaos rules not order, a world where righteousness is not rewarded. That's Cesar's world, and if you're not willing to play by his rules, then you're gonna have to pay the price.

You think water moves fast? You should see ice. It moves like it has a mind. Like it knows it killed the world once and got a taste for murder. After the avalanche, it took us a week to climb out. Now, I don't know exactly when we turned on each other, but I know that seven of us survived the slide... and only five made it out. Now we took an oath, that I'm breaking now. We said we'd say it was the snow that killed the other two, but it wasn't. Nature is lethal but it doesn't hold a candle to man.

You see? It's curious. Ted did figure it out - time travel. And when we get back, we gonna tell everyone. How it's possible, how it's done, what the dangers are. But then why fifty years in the future when the spacecraft encounters a black hole does the computer call it an 'unknown entry event'? Why don't they know? If they don't know, that means we never told anyone. And if we never told anyone it means we never made it back. Hence we die down here. Just as a matter of deductive logic.
