Syrian opposition has condemned Russia’s proposal to put chemical weapons under international control, saying that this is political maneuver and once again asked for a strong response to the regime of Bashar al-Assad.
“The latest invitation (by the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov) is a political maneuver and is part of unnecessary delays that will only increase the number of dead and destruction among the Syrian people,” says the statement issued by Coalition of Syrian Opposition.
Syrian opposition keeps the attitude that “breaking the international law” requires appropriate “strong” response by the international community.
“War criminals can not be freed from their guilt, and crimes against humanity can not be erased by political compromises, by removing the instruments used to commit those crimes,” said the opposition.
