Amazon is the biggest rivals for the internet search engine giant Google informed the chairman of the firm Eric Schmidt. After it was widely heard that Google enjoyed the freedom of not having any big competitor in the market as the Google chairman informed their biggest rival at the moment is another e-commerce giant Amazon.
The Google chairman also informed that most of the people think their main rivals are Bingo or Yahoo which he denied and informed that Amazon is the main rival for the firm.
“Many people think our main competition is Bing or Yahoo. But, really, our biggest search competitor is Amazon,” said Schmidt.
However Google has been one of the pioneers as the internet search engine but recently the company has faced some issues and faced anti-trust complaints in the European Union.
And Google narrowly escapes a huge fine in February after it agreed to provide the same standing to their competitors like Microsoft for their search results.
And the Google chairman pointed out the strengths of his rival Amazon saying, “People don’t think of Amazon as search, but if you are looking for something to buy, you are more often than not looking for it on Amazon,” he informed.
Eric Schmidt added that Amazon is more focused on the commercial side however Amazon is also answering questions of their customers which at times working same as Google.
Meanwhile Amazon is also diversifying its business as they are now looking to expand its business and took various steps and one of them is their first ever store launch at the heart of New York as the firm only done business online and gained popularity all over the world.
And one of their another bold move was acquiring the live streaming gaming network Twitch for $970m which was its largest take over in the last twenty years. And it was learnt that Google was also in talks to buy the gaming network Twitch back in August.
