At least two gunmen are at large after five people were killed in an ambush-style shooting during a backyard party in suburban Pittsburgh, police have said.
Four women and a man were killed on Wednesday night as other party-goers in Wilkinsburg scrambled to escape into the house.
Four of the victims were found dead on the back porch, while the other one died in hospital, Allegheny County police said.
Two men were in a critical condition and a woman was in a stable condition in hospitals in the area after the shooting.
Lieutenant Andrew Schurman, of the Allegheny County homicide unit, said the gunmen barged into the party and opened fire.
He said gunshots came from two distinct locations, and officers do not believe anyone at the party returned fire.
At least two suspects fled the scene on foot after the shootings.
Lt Schurman said: "It looks like right now they were all fleeing toward the back door of the residence when the second gunman fired from the side of the yard.
"They all seemed to get caught on the back porch."
Kayla Alexander told WPXI-TV she heard more than 20 gunshots.
The house and yard has been cordoned off.
Residents gathered on the street after the shooting, some in tears saying they had lost family members.
